new looks

i don't have much to say about this post. i think the photos will say it all. maybe the only thing is that i love both of the new things i got in my look in the last 2 weeks.

other things of note for this weekend. i had a phenomenal weekend. last night, went out with my co-workers et al. now, i really like my coworkers. they are super swell, and i stayed up until about 4:30, when i fell asleep sitting upright on a couch, and my friend brian then picked me up and put me in a bed. that was quite nice, and considerate of him. Today, i went to see "Mama Mia" the broadway musical, here in Vancouver. it was expensive, but it was *amazing.* it is funny, with musicals, almost everytime, before they even start (like, at the point when the musicians start playing, and the lights go down), i generally choke up a bit, because i know how much i am going to love the singing and dancing. and oh baby, was MAMA MIA filled with singing and dancing and lycra, and those things are definently in my list of things that i love.

Syracuse 70.3 race report

so, let's just start with a comment that I think this sport is hilarious . the things we do (and, read on, you will get some in this report) are ridiculous. Not only because we think that waking up at 4:30 am to go and get your exercise on for 5+ hours straight is fun, but we do things that in normal society would be considered completely inappropriate and people would wonder if you need a psych consult. i find it hilarious the pre-race rituals we have. the need to wear a "i've done an ironman" shirt to race check-in, rather than normal street clothes. the carting around of a gallon water bottle day before a race. the food we eat, and the abnormal sleep schedules we keep. hilarious. pre-race prep was pretty normal. I got to syracuse at about 6pm on friday, and meet Kelly Covert , her husband (also kelly covert!) and boys Noah and Ryan. Its been a while since I have posted.  It has also been a great month, with lots on the plate of things to do. I have finally started getting back to exercising on a pretty regular basis and anticipating the next year of training for Challenge Penticton in August.  It has included talking and seeing and loving puppies, in the anticipating of our family growing in the new year with a new little munchkin.  It has included going walking in the woods for a lovely spruce tree in anticipation of our first christmas as a family.  It has included the initiation of a small group in our home every 2 weeks, in anticipation of growing community among the "Gen X's and Y's" at St James Anglican church.  It has included a christmas party or two.
