week in numbers.... (HA!)

Image
HA! psyche. no numbers. because i have hit about 1/2 my workouts. but, it's ok. 'cause I am still the president of the SCWC (Screw you winter club). and, i am on a scheduled recovery week (um.. not tomorrow. last week). and, so it makes me feel less bad about missing. weather in montreal is freezing rain, winds and all around nasty. NOT at all looking forward to getting back to that tonight. especially with the fact that many of the flights into montreal today are delayed/cancelled... but, not going to lie. I AM looking forward to my own food and a bit of regular scheduling again. Especially getting back into the swim.bike.run schedule. I don't want to get too soft around the edges... so. here is my disclaimer. I wear a small bathing suit, because i would much rather just be naked. or at least, not walk around in pants (shout out to alexa , who enjoys that as well!). also, this is the tiniest bathing suit I have ever worn. and, it takes a lot for me to wear it. cau

so, i am on a recovery week. I am also on holidays. i also got a B+ on my exam that could've dropped me out of school. I am happy. I will not blog extensively. I will go to the beach, and take my pants off. i will then proceed to drink a bailey's over ice while listening to the ocean and reading a book. I will finally go for a walk and a swim in the ocean. i will post pictures. enjoy. more will probably come tomorrow... ... back to the grind next week... Finding Nemo Musical at Dinsey's Animal Kingdom On the taxi from the ship to the hotel on Grand Bahamas Island. Glasses were acquired from a ride at Universal Studios. They match the cool new point and shoot that the boy i like got me as a surprise for surprising him in edmonton last week. oh, you know. A fish slide. kissing fishes on a boat between an island and florida. boy i like should be jealous. 'cause i was also getting cozy with disney characters. "i'm on a boat!"

too which I am done with winter....

UGH! i think that winter should just move a long. It snows every fricken day. it is slippery. it is wet. it is not pretty anymore (ok. that is the pessimism talking. snow on trees, and in parks is always pretty). it takes effort to go everywhere. and i can't wear sandals or ride my bike in a skirt. running is slow, and my feet get wet. wind chill gets to the bones. and, did i mention how riding is getting a little scarier to me these days? yeah, well, it is. move along, winter, move along. I liked you. now, i am just done with you. I will give you until the end of my holiday (Feb 28th), before you need to pretty much stop. Or, I will NOT be happy. this week, training has been pretty good. Other than a random 24hr bug or funny food I got on thursday that made me cut my swim short, and on friday, sleep all day, feel achey, and carry a very minor fever, it was decent. Missed a run last monday (for some reason, it seems as if that run is the workout in the week i miss

quiet in blog land...

when it is this quiet, it means that it is not quiet in other parts of life. craziness has been happening. and, if you don't believe me, then look at this. It was my "concept map" which was due on monday of this week.... it can be seen HERE because it is tooooooooo big to upload! sheesh. complicated. this is a representation of a cholera outbreak in a refugee camp in Kenya: Kakuma . it is a pretty crazy exercise to go through, but I am confident that the next one (due on march 2nd! ugh, 2 days post-holiday. guess what I am going to be doing in the sun?!?! yup, concept mapping) is going to be WAY easier. so, instead, on the africa front, i will post this picture. it is pretty powerful, i think. on the weekend, though, I got a FANTASTIC long XC ski in, up at Mt. Tremblant. because I don't ski much, but i love it, I *always* feel the body afterwards. I do wish I had photos, but, alas... I do not. I went with people from the YMCA tri team, and there was on

video hilarity, and new hoodie!

Image
I got my Train-This team kit in (Yeah, Louis Garneau!). This year, I ordered a hoodie, and sports bra ('cause I didn't get my kit from last year until just before syracuse 70.3). Arms are a little short, but, in general, hoodie is exceptionally comfortable. Sports bra is nice, but, very high up towards the clavicles. I guess, though, what a typical Tri-Sports Bra is like. But, you don't get a photo of that, cause I am too self-concious about my "less than ideal" BMI. (HA! please, if you don't understand that joke, just move on...)) next, an old rowing teammate posted this on facebook. Pure hilarity! I wish that Mary would add in this to my functional training....
